Hi, its actually easy.
you may need some DLLS by running winetrick. Download the trail of Camtasia 6 NOT 7
and then extract the rar file then your are going to see a .MSI file to run this you need to run this command in terminal (need to install wine)

NB: You need to be in the directory you extracted it to…

wine msiexec /i FILENAME.msi

wallua, installed

@ Gautam – well, thanks for your great collection. According to my 2-year screencasting as an e-learning education provider, I’d like to say that “free sometimes costs you more”. It’s OK for amateur freelances to create videos with freeware, if you are, as you mentioned in your article, marketing professionals, school students and business delegates. You make screencasting for clear purpose and hope to obtian specific results. You don’t have much time to get along with the program, you need a simple, comprehensive, powerful one to complete your work. The most advantage of shareware is most of them have video and audio editing features, compared with freeware. It can help you to modify and beautify your screencasting video. I mean, for commerial profit pursuit and effective aim achievement. Shareware get a big head start and can’t be replaced.

big cheers Gautam, appreciate that .. have elected to use Virtualbox-3.0 so I can run Camtasia thru XP .. not that I am saying this is the best option, just that it works well for me.

@Guv – There are few software listed for Linux. Wine’s a good option too, but instead of Wine, which is a bit hard for newbies to install, compile and run, I guess opting for Crossover to run windows application on Linux is a better option, only catch being Crossover is a paid option, but with the features it offers, I personally believe it’s value for money .
