Activate Spell Check In Web Form On Firefox
One of the best features provided by Firefox 3 is the ability for spell check the input given by the user. It has an inbuilt program for checking the spelling of the words given as input by the user. This application program check out the input given by the user and flags the incorrectly spelt words in a document.
The users of Firefox have the freedom to directly enter the text in web pages like web based email, forums, blog posts etc without worrying about making any spelling or typo errors. It can be easily activated by the users at the end system. To do so, the users simply need to make a few changes in the settings wizard. Just go to the tool bar and select Options under the Tools. Now check mark the option “Check My Spelling as I Type” which is kept unchecked by default.
In spite of its great usefulness of this tool, it has a major setback. This tool does not work for web forms. The text fields provided in the web forms does not allow this feature of checking the spelling of the input data by the user. However, the users can extend the feature to do spell check for text fields in the web forms by modifying the preferences that are generally kept hidden.
To change the preferences, open your browser and write about:config in the location bar. This will present you the catalog of preferences generally kept hidden. Right click in the list on the option of layout.spellcheckDefault and select the option modify. This is display to you a dialogue box in which the value is kept as 1. You simply need to rewrite it to 2 and your work will be easily done with not much of effort.
