Autostarting Apps in KDE, Kbeaglebar and other pursuits

June 6, 2008 by Gautam

The thought of having a cute little GUI for managing everything is so very appealing that I jump to download the source and start bravely with the compile.

I was trying to get Autostart Manager (an app to manage auto start of applicaations in KDE), then I came across this tutorial, drag and drop- how more simpler can things get?

I still feel stupid for wasting an entire morning trying to fix dependencies just to get kbeaglebar working. Looking for rpms on pbone and software manager, modifying the sources (adding contrib and backport sourcees)…dammit all in the blind for a GUI.

But i did get kbeaglebar working, turned out to be moderately buggy, doesn’t index applications.
