SniffPass v1.07 is the updated edition of the password recovery tool SniffPass. You can retrieve lost Web/FTP/Email passwords with this software.
The freeware places an ear on your network, captures the passwords that pass through your network adapter and directly displays them on your computer screen. This new version(V1.07) has an additional Clear option that was not present in the earlier editions of the freeware.
SniffPass is compatible with any 32-bit Windows operating system which will include Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP with SP1/2003/Vista. However as a pre requisite your system must have a WinPcap capture driver installed and attuned to the network adapter. In versions Windows 2000/XP with SP2 (or greater), the presence of the driver is not mandatory as the raw sockets methods can be used to capture TCP/IP packets.
To operate SniffPass v1.07 run the executable file of SniffPass (SniffPass.exe).From the File menu click on the ‘Start Capture’ option or click the green button on the tool bar. You have to define the capture method and network adapter you will use when you operate SniffPass for the first time. Thereafter the software will listen to your network, capture passwords and exhibit it instantaneously.
If you are a programmer , then you can help SniffPass to be translated to other languages. This will convert all menus, dialog-boxes, and other strings to the other language. Translation steps include running the SniffPass file with /savelangfile parameter. Open the resulting language file SniffPass_lng.ini in Notepad or in any other text editor.
All menus, dialog-boxes, and string entries may then be converted to the desired language. Optionally, you can also add your name and/or a link to your Web site. Then run SniffPass to load all strings in a single language file. After completing the translation steps if you wish to run SniffPassv1.07 without the translation simply rename the language file or move it to another folder.
The software is backed by e-mail assistance to help solve bugs faced when running the program.
