Get Windows 7 Updated Offline By Downloading Windows 7 Updates

Microsoft keeps all Windows Operating Systems updated regarding the latest threats by releasing the necessary updates from time to time. If you have Windows 7 running on your system with an internet connection, it will get updated regularly with the help of Windows Live Update. However, if your system does not have an internet connection, you need to update Windows 7 using offline updates.

You need to download Updates Pack for Windows 7 on any computer that has an internet connection. You need to then copy the downloaded Updates Pack to your system and install the same. The updates pack which contains all the updates for Windows 7 till packaging is also called standalone update installer (with extension .msu).

 

 

Procedure to download and install Offline Updates for Windows 7

  1. First of all, download the below mentioned updates packs
  2. KB974431 – Reliability and Stability update

    KB973525 – ActiveX Kill Bits Roll up updates

    KB975467 – Local Security Authority Subsystem Service

    KB974571 – Windows CryptoAPI which could Allow Spoofing

  3. Transfer the downloaded updates packs to the desired computer.
  4. Double-click on each of the packs so as to install them on your system.

As Windows 7 was launched in October, the security packs mentioned above were released sometime around October to November 2009.
