There are a lot of bright young guns out there, who with right kind of help and guidance can steer our nations path towards success. One of the biggest Human Resource advantage India has at this point over any other developed countries and even over China is it’s demographic profile, with most Indians falling in the right phase of their life to make the right kind of change necessary to steer India from 134th position in UNDP’s HDI more higher where we belong to. In this regard, youth is the sector that can make major difference.
If you have come across any bright students coming from poor financial background who have finished their 10th standard this year (April 2009) and scored more than 80%, please ask them to contact the NGO-Prerana (supported by Infosys foundation). The NGO is conducting a written test and those who clear the test will be eligible for financial help for their further studies. Though this is specific to Karnataka at this point, I hope more organizations come up with such schemes, where poor intelligent students benefit.
