How To Connect Remote Desktop Client For Microsoft Windows Server From A MacBook Pro / Mac OS X ?

April 11, 2009 by Gautam

Recently a client got a new MacBook Pro and wanted to connect to a Microsoft Windows Server. You can download Remote Desktop Connection Client 2 from Microsoft Website using which you can easily connect to Windows based PC’s and access the files, applications and devices on the Windows Server.

But my client was getting a generic error : “You were disconnected from the Windows-based computer because of problems during the licensing protocol”. We’ve already discussed one of the regular problem: “The Remote Computer Disconnected the session because of an error in the Licensing protocol“.

This is one of the solution. If this does not work for you then you can download the opensource alternative software which helps you connect a Mac OS X remote desktop client for Microsoft Windows Server using rdp protocol.

You can download CoRD from Sourceforge.
