GeoHot had already launched Limera1n before greenpoisOn’s jailbreak could be released. It was Limera1n which could help to jailbreak iOS 4.1 for all iDevices. Windows users can make use of Limera1n to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, and iPod 3G running on iOS4.0 or 4.1. Limera1n can also be useful to jailbreak iPad in iOS 3.2.2, in fact this is the one limitation of GreenPoisOn that it cannot jailbreak the 3rd gen iPhone, iPad n iPods.
It even presents an untethered jailbreak for iDevices and is presently reachable to Windows OS only, but will soon be available for Mac and Linux too. IPod Touch 2G users however, do have to wait for some more time to obtain the support of Limera1n. IPhone 3G users need to depend on redsnOw.
By following a pattern, you can easily jailbreak iOS 3.2.2 on iPad:
1> Start with downloading Limera1n on iOS 4.1 jailbreak tool, for either Windows or MAC.
2> On connecting your iPad/iPhone etc, to your computer you get an option ‘make it ra1n’. Click on it.
3> This puts your device into recovery mode and you’ll see a message which will read ‘entering recovery’
4> Follow the instructions step by step and later put your device into DFU mode.
5> You’ll have to hold ‘home+power’ buttons and then release the power button. Again a set of instructions will be flashed on the screen. Follow these instructions.
6> While Limera1n is doing everything for you, you’ll notice a ‘wait’ message is flashed on the screen.
7> A ‘done’ message will be displayed on the screen, which will be followed by ‘your jailbreak is done’, once jailbreaking is done.
You’ll now notice notice Limera1n icon on the springboard once you reboot your device. Touch on the Limera1n icon and install Cydia.
If you now have a jailbreak iPad with you, it means to say that you have succeeded by following certain steps. Till date, Limera1 n is the only jailbreak too available which can break 4th generation Devices-iPhone4; I Pod Touch 4G, iPad and Apple TV. iPhones 4/3gs and iPod touch 3G.4g can also be jailbreaking with limera1n
