How To Send Free SMS To Cell Phones Or Mobile Phones In India, US and Canada
I recently wrote about Yahoo widget to send SMS using CallWave, but seems like the service is not working or effective as it used to be at some point.
In this post, I’ll concentrate on a few other services that let you send SMS to cell phones of mobile phones via internet.
1> Send Free SMS Using Yahoo Mail
The new Yahoo Mail has this feature where you can send SMS to your friends and family on their cell phones or mobile phones. This feature is available only in the Yahoo Mail Beta version and not the classic version.
Login to your account and you’ll notice a drop down button labeled “New”. Click on that and select the option “Text Message”/
Key in the number who you want to send the message to, type in the message and click on send.
This service is free by Yahoo, but you’ll be allowed to send only 5 SMS’s to a contact. The person you are sending the SMS’s to will have to reply back for you to be able to send the SMS’s again. The other person may be charged whatever the applicable fee is by his service provider.
This feature is currently available for residents of India, Canada, Philippines and US
