I would like to know if the fine for jumping traffic signals have been raised to Rs 500/- as had been reported in the DH recently. If so, the police dept should put out notifications in the press and on TV to make people aware of their new rates.
The police should have consistency in manning the signal points. most often at 7.39 am there are no policemen at the signals near the Infantry Road/ Safina Plaze intersection. if a driver defaults on an empty road at this hour, and suddenly the police are lying in wait- as if to catch out for a minor offense on an absolutely empty, quiet road- this looks as if the policemen position themselves there once in a while to make some money.
While i admit that i was careless enough to have driven thru a traffic signal the policemen at the circle on busy Cubbon Road stopped me and first asked for Rs 200. When i pointed out that they had allowed two two wheelers thru and that they were not there everyday to bring about lasting discipline, they then asked for Rs 100. I refused to give them either amount.
I also would suggest that traffic lights be installed at the Cubbon Road circle- where the road in front of Safina Plaza hits CR. The traffic is fast and furious on Cubbon Road and there is no safety for
drivers trying to get onto Cubbon Road. I would suggest that the policemen, instead of trying to extort money from defaulting drivers at 7.30 am (mostly women drivers who are on their way to school duty) should try to control the heavy, rushing traffic on Cubbon Road at that hour.

In this context, I would like to bring to your kind notice that, on that date 20th Sep 2011, I was in the HAL factory between 07.08hrs to 15.02hrs (attendance details are enclosed) and I am the only person who knows the driving and using the car at my home.
Hence I request your good self to cancel the Notice for violation of Traffic rule and fine of Rs.100/- imposed on me.

He told me that i need to write a letter to police commissioner bangalore and RTO officer by mentioning all story about my bike. Meantime he told tat i also need to send RTI(Right to informaton)application to all RTO in Karnatka (tat comes ard 58 rto)to know about bike transfe status. So my question is that what would be the procudure to send the RTI request and wat are documents i need to attach.. He told tat i need to get Money order also but he is not sure about Amount.. so can you pls advice me same. thanks and regars, bhavesh

i dont really know how fool proof the traffic sys is in bangalore, being an army officer i drive very carefully and follow all traffic rules. i was surprised to find a traffic violation in my name at trinity circle at 1517 pm. time is correct as i come home from that road the violation is PARKING NEAR TRAFFIC LIGHT OR PEDESTRIAN CROSS. THERE IS NO CHANCE OF PARKING ANY WHERE AT TRINITY CIRCLE. NEITHER THERE IS ANY PEDESTRIAN CROSS WHERE ONE CAN PARK. NEED TO TAKE A PHOTOGRAPH TOMORROW AND ASK FOR THE PROOF FROM THE TFC POLICE DEPT. REFUSAL TO FILE COMPLAINT AT
POLICE STATION JEEVAN BEEMA NAGAR, BANGALORE

Sir,

1. I would like to lodge a complaint against the Police Officer at Jeevan Beema Nagar PS, who refused to allow me to file an FIR/Complaint against a hit-and-run to my car. The details are mentioned in subsequent paragraphs.
2. I was involved in a hit-an-run accident on 19 Jan 12 at about 1530 h. Subsequently, I attempted to file a complaint with Indira Nagar Police Station at approximately 1700 h on the same day. I was informed by the Police Officer at Indira Nagar PS that my complaint could not be lodged at the station and that I was required to go to Jeevan Beema PS.
3. I reached Jeevan Beema PS at about 1730 h. There I met the police officer to whom I narrated the incident. He was unnecessarily rude to me, and then refused to accept my complaint/FIR, while summarily dismissing me and asking me to come subsequently. Further, he kept blaming me for the accident without ascertaining facts. Despite repeatedly asking, he refused to disclose his name. His rude behaviour has ensured that I have not been able to generate the will or courage to visit the police station subsequently.
4. I would also like to bring to your notice that my husband is abroad and I am in a difficult situation looking after two small children (aged 1 & 2 years respectively). At the time of the hit-at-run I was returning from Manipal Hospital, getting my Mother-in-law who had been operated for a cataract on the same day. This too was informed to the police officer at Jeevan Beema Nagar PS, but he still insisted on being rude and unwilling to file my complaint.
5. It is requested that the matter may kindly be looked into. I am also enclosing my complaint. It would be kind if this could be filed.

It’s interesting today I received a fine for “Parking Near Traffic Light Or Pedestrian Crossing”. It took more than 2 hours for the BTRAC website to open the proof which it claimed. Interestingly if you see the proof it’s valid that I along with the rest of the cars behind mine are taking a “Valid Green” right turn but vehicles in front of us are jumping the RED Signal & blocking our way!. The photo is quite clear with opposite side vehicles jumping the signal. This is a very common sight at the Big Bazar Signal on Old Madras Road. We have requested so many times to deploy a Traffic Police but no response. I mentioned this to many of the people who live in Nagavarapalya, many have received this fine with the same heading but it’s because of the vehicles jumping RED & Blocking vehicles from the other side! Wow! what a way to manage traffic! The innocent pays a price & the defaulter goes scot free!

I have received a notice for offence:Jumping Traffice signal for the vehicle which was stolen 3 years back, and I had made complaint for the same and FRI was done on the same day. I got insurance also for the same. Now I am receiving notice for the stolen vehicle, I informed this the police station they say nothing to worry, what should I do for this, should I register a complaint or just forget.

Y u people do cops take bribe instead beg today i came to no how eager they are to take money even if there is noting wrong being done by us even we’ve al documents

In this context, I would like to bring to your kind notice that on that day I was at home resting because the previous night I had worked in night shift and my vehicle was with me, so how it would be possible for me to come to Jayanagar without wearing a helmet.

Just want to keep everyone informed how to deal with wrong fine imposed by Cops on us ,
Basically you need to run around a lot and explain all the shit to every person you meet , so its better get in touch with a person who has great links and everything would be sorted out .
But if the fine is like very cheap just pay it and forget it .
Basically until you have a lot f money no one on planet Earth can piss you off you rule when you have money .

there was a similar complaint against vehi no. KA02HL3425 WHICH IS A SUZUKI SLING SHOT AND MY NEPHEW OWNS IT. HE WAS NOT IN STATION FROM JUNE 15TH TO JULY 09. BUT TO OUR SUPRISE HE GOT A NOTICE SAYING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON ZEBRA CROSSING OF 17TH JUNE ON ASSAYA ROAD NEAR FRAZER TOWN.

I VISITED ASHOKNAGAR P STATION ONLY TO FIND THAT THE NOTICE WAS LODGED BY FRAZER TOWN POLICE STATION AND I APPROACHED THE FRAZER TOWN POLICE STATION ONLY TO GET THE ANSWER THAT VIOLATION IS TRUE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE PHOTO GRAPH AS PROOF. BUT NO PERSON WAS THERE TO SHOW THE PHOTO. I WAS TOLD TO TURN UP AFTER TWO MORE DAYS THE SEARCH BEGAN AND AFTER NEARLY 120 MINUTES THEY COULD FIND THE PHOTO OF A YAMAHA DOUBLE HEADLIGHT RED COLOUR BIKE ON THE ZEBRA CROSSING WITH THE NUMBER KA 02 HL 3125. BUT THE NOTICE WAS SENT TO A PERSON RESIDING AT VIJAYANAGAR WHO HAD NEVER IN HIS LIFE SEEN FRAZER TOWN BECAUSE HE IS NEW TO BANGALORE AND HAILED FROM MANGALORE.

THE MISTAKE WAS THERE WAS A BOLT JUST BELOW NUMBER ONE ON THE NUMBER PLATE WHICH LOOKED LIKE 3425 INSTEAD OF 3125 FINALLY AFTER SPENDING 200 RUPEES FOR PETROL FOR TWO DAYS FROM VIJAYANAGAR TO FRAZER TOWN THE MATTER WAS CLOSED.

Hi,I have paid online Rs 100/-for jumping signal after checking in the web site for traffic fines.But even after getting the online receipt,my vehicle no., is still showing up in the pending fine display.I’d like to know if the same is getting corrected in the website automatically or should we send the copy to the TRAC for updation?Kindly advice.(But unfortunately i was not in town on the day the supposed violation took place! even then i’ve cleared the fine .)
