April 10th, 2009

If you live in Bangalore you definitely know what traveling in the hectic traffic is like! And at times we never realize, but chances are that we break the traffic rules when we are hurrying up somewhere.

If you think you were going unnoticed breaking traffic signal, then you were wrong. You would have noticed that all the “constables” have a book and pen in hand and they note down the vehicle number, time, place and the kind of offense and this data is fed into a single database.

You can see if you have ever violated a traffic rule from here.

Bangalore rto is bull shit and the trafic police also not working properly then where the website will be proper and if every one pays fines online the police will not get c…….n money so they have disabeled it

  3. July 30th, 2009 at 00:19 | #3

@Prasanna – Things are changing for sure. Sooner or later you will surely notice it. Also, I blame the general public as they do not know their rights as civilians. Trust me, Bangalore or as a matter of fact Indian public has a lot more authority to tackle the corrupt bribe system ! We just need to learn about our rights !!

This is definitely good initiative. Thanks for Govt becoming transperent. Similar way, they should bring transperency on the History of the Vehicle. So that Second Hand Vehicle market (buying and selling) will become more reliable.

    Folks,
You can get all your traffic violation fine details at this website http://www.btis.in/ .Next, to pay your fines you have to register at Bangalore-one (http://www.bangaloreone.gov.in/public/bps-info.aspx) & follow simple payment steps & you are done. I just paid mine :-) it hardly took 10 minutes to find out the traffic violation details, registration (Bangalore one)& printing the payment receipt. Hope this helps.

Just check to use your rights and the traffic police man will write an good listing of traffic violation in your name. Check out once guys , I have experienced once and they have given ticket for Traffic Light jump .. rash and negligent driving etc ……. Better STOP paying the bribe to get away, if every one minute 1 person joins hands to STOP Bribe .. we will succeed in making India worth living

Thank guys. Good work to create awareness . Your vested interest in this regard will definitely clean our rusted and ruptured system. It’s us who can make if believe, or break if decide. Lets be proactive, fight for the right. Bride is the easiest option to come out when you are under deep shit situation and you dont mind paying extra to come out of it. But you don’t realize that it has already dug a grave for others as well him selves. Our system as well as only make our cops greedy and duty less.

Wish as many people should read these blogs as possible.

    @sudeep

    1) one pays fine online.
    2) Does one still have to go to a traffic police station to tell name of person driving at that time etc. ?

    Is #1 good enough?

  25. February 3rd, 2010 at 22:58 | #25

@Sudeep – Paying the fine online should be good enough, unless it’s a serious offence one doesn’t need to go to the station.

  26. February 12th, 2010 at 17:04 | #26

This feature is cool. This will help if we have to buy a second hand vehicle. We can check if the previous owner has violated any rules or some serious offence.

  30. February 23rd, 2010 at 13:54 | #30

@Manu – I do not think that this facility is available yet. Not sure if it would be a nice idea to let anyone get address by providing Vehicle Registration. Something to think over, as this service, if available, can be used for various anti-social activities!

Is there a way to find evidence for the violation ?? In most of the cases, it looks like the entered cases are false entries. They may be doing it to fill their quota. Also I have noticed that,m even if they take bribe abd let us go, the fine is still entered !!!

    June 18th, 2010 at 11:28 | #41

    Respected Sir
    I submit the following details:
My 50cc TVS moped Vehicle Reg no KA 03 9303.
    My driving license 2212/07/03.
Complain re: Notification No FID 5 TMR 83 dated 27/7/1984
    CCR No E/16/1144/1612
    Date 17/06/2010
    Driver’s Name: Supriya Dasgupta
    time 5:15:pm
    Place: Ibrahim Sahib Street

    I report the following incident:
I had just turned 5 metres into Ibrahim Sahib Street from Dispensary Road and was in the process of dismounting from my moped to push it towards the parking bay in front of Balaji Motor Stores, so that I could get back a suitcase I had given for repair at the repair stall located in that corner. The traffic police men ordered me to show my license and fined me on the spot Rs 100/- as they were adamant that I had entered a no entry road. I apologized to them for my riding the 50 cc moped in and requested me to let me off as the suitcase repair stall was just at the corner of Dispensary Road and Ibrahim Sahib Street. I repeatedly apologized. But they were very brusque and they fined me Rs 100. Since my suitcase had not been repaired I then pushed my moped up Ibrahim Sahib Street till I turned off left into one of the lanes connecting up with Commercial Street.
I noticed that these police officers were walking up the road now very causally, laughing and joking.
I believe that there is no consistency in the code of conduct of these traffic police.
They neglect to warn users about a one way street and allow small time 2 wheelers to go thru daily until suddenly one day they waylay people.
The network of narrow lanes behind Commercial street are used both ways regularly by 2 wheelers.
Instead of making these lanes one way for 2 wheelers, the police should think of banning 4 wheelers from using these lanes.
In this case, I found that these officers enjoyed themselves having some jokes at my expense, and also instigating the pulic to make fun of me.
I believe that their intention was to simply make some quick money and then leave- this was clearly a “quick money” effort on the part of these officers. Since I had stopped at the suitcase repair stall and then I pushed my moped to Balaji Parts shop, I also noticed that the self same officers were now strolling causally down Ibrahim Sahib Street right past me!
so their huge show of enforcing the law at the mouth of a one way street was only a farce! Having made some quick money they now left, leaving users to go as they please!
I request you to trace these officers from the attached records and admonish them regarding their code of public behaviour.I will forward this complain to the concerned higher authorities in the traffic police.
I feel that for the most part these traffic officers are themselves playful and are given to gain pleasure from harassing, making fun of and humiliating small time road users.
    Thank you

  42. June 18th, 2010 at 12:23 | #42

@Supriya – I understand your point of you and feel your pain. Unfortunately, the whole system is flawed and officers do not pay attention to these ‘petty’ things as they have bigger issues to handle. But I am on your side, action be taken or not, please file a case.

Everybody makes mistake, but these parasites have made it a habit to earn the extra bit from others mistake, instead of setting the society right !

Please go ahead and file the complaint, though a word of advice, do not expect any kind of positive aftermath. Those officers will continue to be as corrupt or worse !
