If you feel that the number of recently closed tabs history is to less for your liking, or if you think that the number of recently closed tabs saved is too much in terms of privacy concern, you may change its value by making a simple change in Firefox preference.

To alter the value of maximum number of recently closed tabs that Mozilla Firefox should remember and restore or reopen when necessary, follow the below mentioned steps:

  1. Type about:config in the Firefox Location Bar. A warning message will appear. Just confirm that you would be careful.
  2. Search for the preference parameter name mentioned below:

  3. Once you locate the preference name “browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo”, double-click on it. A window appears prompting you to enter the new integer value. Enter any integer as per your preference. The value is 10 by default.

For instance, if you do not want Firefox to remember last recently closed tabs so as to reopen or restore, enter “0” as the value for “browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo”.
