Download / Play Digger Online For Free – Windows / Unix / DOS

I’ve been a Digger fan since my childhood. I was recently searching for a downloadable version or online version for free found these links.

You can download DOS version of Digger for free from this link: http://www.digger.org/download.html

It’s best if you can download as you can play the game even if you are offline. However, if you prefer playing it online, here’s the link: http://www.digger.org/java.html

Apart from the DOS version, they have Windows / Unix version too for free download.

Tip: To make the ‘Digger’ experience more exciting you can play the game upside down, i.e, by flipping windows screen upside down. I’m trying to train my mind to play the ‘up-side-down’ version and it’s quite a challenge. Must try I suggest 🙂

Use Remote Access Console Or From The DOS Prompt To Add New Route

Adding New Route To TCP/IP Routing Table By Using Remote Access Console Or From The DOS Prompt

Every windows box that is connected to a network, either it is wide area network or local area network has an IP routing table. This table contains rules that define where and how all data packets must be sent.

Generally, it is very normal process to connect your computer with the internet. However, some time the computers that are connected to complex network will require advanced network topology, and they’ll also need additional requirements of routing the paths.

In simple word Sometimes network interface routers requires more relevant information and optimization paths to connect computer to the remote servers of Internet service provider. In such circumstances, you can resolve this problem by adding manual routes in routing tables through command prompt.

How to add IP route rules in to routing tables in DOS command prompt with route command prompt-

1. Click start and open command prompt.

2. Below is the syntax of route command to add routing table:

route ADD [destination IP address or subnet] MASK [subnet mask] [gateway IP address] [metric] IF [interface]

Every part of this syntax is not mandatory. There are also some optional parts in this syntax such as network interface and metric.

For example, the command to add route to 10.1.1.0/24 subnet network through 192.168.1.8 gateway router: route ADD 10.1.1.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.8

To make route persistent across boots of the system, use -p flag in addition to route add command. Else, route will not be preserved once the system reboots.

For example: route –p ADD 10.1.1.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.8

3. Press enter to start the rote command

4. Now check that your route settings are added correctly by viewing routing table

If you face any difficulties, then you must scan the route commands again. If any information is incorrectly entered, then you have to delete that route and enter the new rout commands all over again.

5. Add new rout table using routing and remote access console:

  • Go to start > Administrative tools>Routing and remote access?

  • If your computer is already configured, then you can skip to step 5 directly. However, if your computer is not configured, then you have to configure it. Right click on action menu and select configure routing and remote access.

  •  During this process you select custom configuration option to enable routing access

Following these steps you can easily configure optimized network connection. These two methods are useful to get connected with your computer.

Alter Hard Drive Label or Partition Name in DOS

Alter Hard Drive Label or Partition Name in DOS

It is easy to change hard disk partition name in any windows operating system. Users just choose the option of renames from the contextual drop down list. Generally, users can create a new label name for volume during formatting of windows operating system

Label.exe is the command-line utility for changing the labels of names of the hard disk partitions. It is available in most Microsoft DOS and windows operating system including windows 98, Windows 95, Windows NT, windows 2000, windows ME, and windows server 2000.

To use this label.exe utility you need to use this syntax:

LABEL [drive:][label]

Example,

Label c: Music

Note: label.exe utility command line will work only if hard disk is not write-protected

Alternatively user simply enter “label” command to change or view current partition name on working operating system’s drive. It means through this command user can view or change label of the hard disk partition.

Please bear in mind that the labeling of hard disk partition takes place with ASCII characters, and if you make mistakes, the Scandisk recognizes these characters, and assumes it to be corrupt or incorrect label of volume. The Scandisk then starts to fix that label. However, if scandisk start fixing label of volume, it may remove or delete all the space and information in that particular hard drive partition.

Free JaBack to Synchronization, Archiving Task and Automate Backup

Free JaBack to Synchronization, Archiving Task and Automate Backup

Most likely you might have heard about CopyChangedFiles, which is used to keep the backup of the significant files altered frequently, from one directory to another. JaBack is another new dominant, reliable and flexible automated data backup tool, which can be synchronized, archived and automated backup.

You just need to generate the task and specify the type of the task i.e. what you want to perform, like synchronizing folders, zipping/unzipping directories, copying files, deleting files and much more.

After the completion of this task, in order to automate it, you’ll need to use the scheduler software. The scheduler software allows you to schedule the job frequency such as by seconds, minutes, hour, day, week and month. This scheduler software consist very powerful scheduling, tasking and automation capabilities. With version tracking, you’ll be able to decide to append time/date for the backup of files.

JaBack provide email and FTP capability to send the backup data to mail server and remote area, if you going to use the internet and want to transfer the backup data to other server. These features can be used for only zip/unzips archive/backup/delete options based on selected files.

It is portable, as it has been noticed that it runs well with Windows 95/98/2000/XP/NT Server/2000 Server/2000 AdvServer/Vista. As it is an independent platform, it also supports the other OS such as Linux as well as UNIX platforms, Mac OSX. To know more about its features, you can refer to the help manual.
