Windows 7 – Fix The Error Encountered While Extracting Setup Files
Once you purchase a legitimate license from Microsoft and try to download setup files for 32-bit (X86) or 64-bit (X64) Windows 7 from Digital River or Microsoft store using ESD (Electronic Software Distribution), you might face difficulties while unpacking and extracting the setup files.
You normally face problems when you try extracting three setup files of Windows 7 for installation and get the below mentioned error message when you unload the box.
“The application cannot find one of its required files, possibly because it was unable to create it in the folder. Please make sure that the folder in which this application was downloaded is accessible and not read-only.”
Moreover, even when you try to upgrade from 32-bit Windows 7 to 64-bit Windows 7, you get a similar error message as follows:
“The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you’re running. Check your computer’s system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.”
Installation files are the main cause of this issue. The setup files that you download from “msft-dnl.digitalrivercontent.net” are normally corrupt and cannot be used for installation of Win 7. To resolve this issue, you have to get the working expanded Setup file downloaded or you need to wait for Microsoft to fix the corrupt installation files.
You can try re-downloading the setup/installation files and begin the installation procedure again. After you download the setup files, you need to always ensure that they are completely downloaded and not damaged.
